Umpire Courses 2027 Season

ECB On Line Umpiring Course

This course is aimed at those who are interested to know more about the key laws of the game and how to umpire, without committing (yet) to the formal ECB Umpire Course.

Completion of this learning does NOT grant access to the ECB Umpire Progression Pathway and completing the full ECB Umpire Course is required to join the pathway.

The module is open and free to all and can be accessed from the button below.

Incidentally the module is also part of the full ECB Umpire Course; completing the course, registering the result and saving a screen shot will show the tutors on the full Umpire Course that you have already done the online part of the course.

The course is designed to provide foundational knowledge of the game of cricket, the learning is aimed at those who are new to cricket, umpiring or are a parent/guardian looking to support their child at their club.

The module takes approximately 60 minutes to complete.

Minimum age is 13 years old.

There is no charge for taking part in the course.

To take part simply press the button.

Hopefully, undertaking this course will give you a taster. If you wish discuss how you could  progress then contact your County Development Officer using the relevant button below:

Important Note

Please be aware that the Umpire Course currently has not been updated to include the Law Changes for the UK 2027 season. i.e. It does not include changes relevant to the no ball/wide over head high, and the pitch/pitched/pitching of the ball.

The rest of the course is still relevant. It is anticipated this will be completed in November. This message will be removed when updated.
